Our input devices

Mice and keyboards with the highest medical requirements

Conventional input devices are a breeding ground for pathogens and a potential risk of cross-contamination due to the difficult-to-clean gaps. Input devices in the medical field are therefore subject to the highest requirements. This also includes a disinfectable mouse and keyboard, which are the main point of contact for all users of the respective workstation in daily use.

The hygiene requirements for these appliances are very high. First of all, a medical keyboard and mouse must meet the highest ergonomic standards. This is already a challenge in many cases, as good haptics and hygiene are difficult to combine. There are also additional requirements and differences to normal keyboards. Overall, these are of a hygienic nature.

Level disinfectable surface

A medical keyboard or mouse must be easy to clean in daily use. This is only possible if it has no corners or indentations, but a surface that is as even as possible and moisture-resistant, such as silicone. Germs often settle in openings and crevices, which makes cleaning more difficult. The mice are also washable due to the lack of openings on the underside.

Areas of application

Common areas of application for disinfectable keyboards and mice are medically sensitive areas. In everyday practice, the devices are used in hospitals, by dentists or orthodontists, but also in the POS or food production sector, as well as in laboratories.

Why the Medigenic products from Rein Medical

Quick cleaning despite hygiene

As the keyboard cannot be used during cleaning, this must be done quickly. The option of being able to switch off the input field at the touch of a button is therefore an advantage. This enables cleaning and disinfection without taking up a lot of time. The result is perfect hygiene without wasting a lot of time.

Disinfectant

Hygienic keyboards and mice must be able to withstand all common disinfectants. These must not cause any damage to the surface. Our input devices are therefore resistant to all agents recommended by the VAH/DGHM for surface disinfection.

Variants and versions

The medical keyboards from Rein Medical are available in different versions. The portfolio ranges from a simple basic version to more complex keyboards that can initiate a learning process for staff with a built-in hygiene alarm. The sensor system reminds you when the keypad is due for disinfection after setting an individual cleaning interval. If the sensor system is satisfied with the disinfection by the user, it switches itself off again automatically. Compact keyboards for applications with limited space are also available, as are wireless versions.
