Initial situation

The number of medical devices in the operating theater continues to increase. Data volumes are also increasing continuously. A flood of highly specialized technology must be kept in view by the operating theatre staff. There is often a lack of overview: monitors are positioned in unfavorable places and cannot be viewed properly by staff. Operating individual devices usually takes a lot of time and always poses a potential risk to patient safety. If the IT has to be adapted to the requirements in the OR, there is a lack of flexibility when it comes to changeover times. A lack of a system with appropriate information about the spatial situation in the operating room makes the workflow and communication processes more difficult both inside and outside the operating room.
