The digital operating room
A wide variety of equipment trolleys are required to carry out the various procedures within the OR track. These range from C-arms, endoscopy towers and microscopes to neuronavigation. In addition to the various functionalities, the different video signals with various connection options are a particular challenge. The focus is on operability, flexibility, ease of maintenance and hygiene. For this reason, Rein Medical developed the iOi family consisting of hybrid encoders and decoders with standardized hybrid connectors

Ergonomics with plug & play
The iOi box has an easy-to-use hybrid connector that allows modalities to be connected quickly, simply and flexibly. It supplies the iOi with operating voltage via copper cables and transmits data via fiber optics. With the installation of our iOi hybrid patch sockets, we have developed a very user-friendly solution, as each mobile source/sink is connected to the system exclusively via the hybrid plug. The high quality and performance of this plug & play method is suitable for demanding medical environments. When changing the source/sink during operation, no synchronization is necessary, nor does it take much time. This is because SMART OR saves the last configuration and maintains it.

Encoder
The versatile iOi encoder converts both analog and digital
video signals into an IP data stream. The data packets are
distributed via OM3 optical fibers over a standard Ethernet network
and sent to the corresponding decoder. The iOi control
is handled by our Smart OR software management system.
Decoder
The decoder converts the received IP streams into a standard video signal. Thanks to the downscaling function, the iOi decoder is able to display 4K signals on a 4K monitor as well as on an existing Full HD monitor. This flexibility ensures easy integration into existing OR scenarios.
